What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Guru the Caterer?
Job Description:
- Load and Organize: Carefully check, pack, and load food orders and catering equipment into the delivery vehicle to ensure everything is complete and secure.
- Timely Deliveries: Efficiently navigate routes throughout Somerville, Boston, and nearby areas to deliver orders to corporate offices, campuses, and residential customers on time.
- Customer Service: Act as the face of Guru the Caterer by providing polite, professional, and friendly service upon delivery.
- Safety First: Maintain safe driving habits and ensure food items are transported securely without damage or spills.
- Coordination: Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate delivery schedules and handle delivery confirmations or payments when necessary.
Requirements:
- A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Strong familiarity with the Boston/Somerville area or excellent skills using GPS/navigation apps.
- Punctual, responsible, and great at managing time under busy hours.
- Physically fit to lift, carry, and move heavy catering hot boxes or food trays.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-first attitude.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
