Field Service & Sales Representative – NY/PA Territory

Location: Home-Based Near Binghamton, NY

Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus opportunities

Gurtler Industries is seeking a Field Service & Sales Representative to support an established customer base throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

This is a home-based field position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and managing their own territory. You'll combine mechanical troubleshooting, customer service, and account growth within a stable, recession-resistant industry.

This position requires approximately 50% regional travel throughout New York and Pennsylvania and is not a remote or office-based role.

If you prefer working with equipment instead of spreadsheets, enjoy being out in the field rather than behind a desk, and take pride in building long-term customer relationships, this could be the right fit.

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent onsite at customer facilities servicing automated chemical dispensing systems, troubleshooting equipment, training customer teams, and improving operational performance.

Unlike traditional sales roles, success in this position comes primarily through exceptional service, technical expertise, and trusted customer relationships.

Territory & Travel

• Home-based position located near Binghamton, NY
• Territory includes Binghamton, Syracuse, Rochester, Johnstown, NY, and portions of Pennsylvania including the Allentown area
• Approximately 50% regional travel
• Occasional overnight travel required several times per year
• Monthly vehicle allowance provided
• Mileage, lodging, meals, and approved business expenses are reimbursed

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Service and maintain automated chemical dispensing systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues
• Train customer teams on proper system use and best practices
• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service
• Manage your schedule and territory independently
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and support new business development
• Partner with customers to improve operational efficiency and performance

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

• Strong mechanical or technical aptitude
• Experience in commercial or industrial environments
• The ability to work independently in the field
• A service-first, relationship-focused mindset
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

• Commercial laundry or warewashing
• Chemical service or technical support
• HVAC or mechanical service
• Industrial equipment support
• Plant or production environments
• Route-based commercial service roles
• Water treatment or facility services
• Pumps, valves, piping, or fluid systems
