Gunter Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead heavy civil construction projects from award through final closeout. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of projects, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality results on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and establish project execution plans.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Monitor project profitability and provide regular progress updates to leadership.
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Coordinate field superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor production, quality, and safety.
- Coordinate inspections, permits, material procurement, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with KDOT, MoDOT, KCMO, OSHA, and contract requirements.
- Resolve field issues, change orders, scheduling conflicts, and client concerns while maintaining positive relationships with owners, engineers, and inspectors.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
- Experience managing street rehabilitation, concrete paving, flatwork, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Experience with Bid2Win, PlanSwift, and Procore.
- Working knowledge of KDOT, MoDOT, and KCMO specifications.
- Experience managing public works projects.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
