Role Description The Maintenance Planner is a full-time, on-site role supporting maintenance activities for mining operations and associated facilities. This role is responsible for developing, and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work orders for fixed plant equipment. The Maintenance Planner coordinates with operations, maintenance technicians, and supply chain teams to plan resources, parts, tools, and downtime windows, ensuring minimal equipment disruption. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate asset records, updating the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), reviewing equipment histories, and monitoring key performance indicators to improve reliability.
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance planning, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or comparable industrial environments.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintenance scheduling tools (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle, EAM, or similar).
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or process equipment common to mining or processing plants.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple work orders and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with maintenance, operations, procurement, and leadership teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmentally responsible practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and OEM recommendations for planning purposes.
- Proficiency in MS Office or similar tools (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with data analysis and reporting is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma, apprenticeship, or degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
