Role Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and executing all shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant movement of materials and finished goods. This role plays a critical part in inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, safety compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Pick, package, and label outgoing shipments accurately.
- Perform verification checks before shipment release.
- Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) and required shipping documentation.
- Coordinate carriers for pickups, deliveries, and scheduling.
- Execute accurate ERP/WMS transactions for receipts, shipments, and inventory movements.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Support cycle counts and inventory investigations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and traceability.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Ensure adherence to 5S standards in shipping/receiving areas.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure shipping documentation meets quality and compliance standards.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse coordination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
- Experience in ERP/WMS systems
- Experience preparing Bills of Lading and shipping documentation
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Good understanding of inventory control processes
- High attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to resolve discrepancies independently
- Effective communication skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout shift
- Comfortable working in warehouse/manufacturing environment
