About the Role:

As a Full-Time Cook at The Mainland, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals that enhance the guest experience. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation. You will collaborate with the kitchen/bartender staff to maintain a smooth workflow and adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines. This position requires a commitment to excellence in food production, as well as the ability to adapt to changing menus and guest preferences. Ultimately, your contributions will help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return and enjoy our culinary offerings. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen.
  • Ability to read and speak English for understanding recipes and instructions.
  • Strong manual dexterity and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a cook in a restaurant atmosphere
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following health regulations.
  • Assist in menu planning and food presentation to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow during peak service times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Skills:

The required skills of food preparation and manual dexterity are essential for executing recipes efficiently and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Speaking and reading English will enable effective communication with team members and understanding of instructions, which is crucial for maintaining quality and safety standards. The ability to stand for extended periods is necessary to manage the physical demands of the role, especially during busy service times. Preferred skills, such as experience as a cook, will enhance your ability to lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative kitchen atmosphere. Overall, these skills contribute to a well-organized kitchen that consistently delivers exceptional dining experiences. 

Salary : $16 - $18
