Job Title: Machine Shop Supervisor

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Shift: 1st Shift

Salary: $70K (Depending on Experience)

Location: Pueblo, CO

Relocation Assistance program Available.

Job Summary: Supervises directly, with the assistance of team leads, the daily activities of the Machine Shop staff to ensure that all machine components are produced according to current drawing specifications, are cost-effective, and adhere to a finite shop schedule.

Job Duties:

• Assume responsibility for meeting job completion dates and adherence to a finite shop schedule by effective utilization of staffing and equipment.
• Provide for the adequate training and skill development for all assigned personnel to include the conduct of constructive and timely performance appraisals.
• Submit regular written reports, which may include accident reports, machine down time, production variances from standard hours, indirect labor as well as other reports as needed and directed.
• Plan and develop shop layout taking into consideration changes in workflow and capacity increase.
• Plan and develop capital equipment requirements such as repairs, overhauls, and replacements.
• Maintains a safe, productive work environment for all assigned employees, including communications and equitable implementation of company policies, practices and relevant legal requirements.
• Develop and maintain the self-directed work team approach to manufacturing.
• Develop continuous improvement goals based on efficiency, setup reduction, quality, and safety.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or similar field of study desired and 2 plus years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting (will consider equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Extensive experience in manufacturing (machining processes highly desired).
• Effective interpersonal, group process, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• High degree of professionalism
• Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and independently, self-motivated.
• Capacity to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
• Technical writing and reporting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
