Steel Fabricator

Position Summary:

• Steel Fabricators may work on projects of all sizes, but their job is essentially the same; designing, cutting and shaping metal. A Steel Fabricator may be involved in the creation of new structures or repairing existing ones. You will be part of a team with other skilled workers, however, your duties will often be performed with minimal supervision so you must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Comply with all Safety Requirements to maintain safe work area for you and your co-workers
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions or diagrams to perform assigned tasks
• Perform MIG procedures with accuracy and efficiency
• Complete welding and/or fabrication to project specs
• Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods
• Operate Horizontal Band Saws
• CNC Press Brake
• CNC Plasma Table
• Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and temperature
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

Desired Qualifications Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2-year's work experience directly related to Welding or Steel Fabrication
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Proficient at welding
• Fabricating experience
• Blueprint reading skills
• MIG Welding Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
