Job Overview
Responsible for greeting, taking reservations, seating guests efficiently and provide excellent customer service, handling special requests and performing other basic tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets the customers as they arrive and informing them of any ongoing specials or promotions.
- Confirms the number in the party and the name for the reservation.
- Escort customers to their tables, walking slowly in front of them.
- Thanking customers as they leave and inviting them back.
- Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
- Be advised of any ongoing food and drink specials as well as general knowledge of Gulfstream Park property and Guest Services Resources in order to respond to guest inquiries to the best of their ability.
- Be advised of week-to-week work schedule and any changes made according to business needs.
- Follow the directives of all department SOPs and policies regarding uniforms, communication, and work duties.
- Provides excellent customer service to guests, fellow staff members, etc.
- Responsible for carrying out all duties with safety as a priority.
- Keep the Hostess station clean and neat.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently.
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse angry situations and collect accurate information in order to resolve conflicts.

The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
