We are a large ophthalmic practice seeking an experienced ophthalmic technician.
The ophthalmic assistant will be responsible for duties that include taking health histories and pre-exam testing. Refractometry and tonometry experience preferred, but not required
Skills:
- Proficiency in computer usage
- Knowledge / experience in electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient information and retrieve medical records is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong level of dedication to job and commitment to learning
- Refractometry and tonometry experience preferred but not required.
As a work-up Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Ophthalmologist by ensuring the correct data is obtained prior to him/her examining the patient. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and ability to work well with patients will contribute to the success of our clinic. Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- No weekends required
Experience:
- None required, but ophthalmic technician and/or medical knowledge is a plus

Qualifications
- Minimum- High school graduate
- Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus
- Proficient in computer usage
- Ability to provide exceptional patient care and maintain HIPAA compliance
