Job Description
The First Class pre-K classroom is a special program located within our school. The assistant teacher answers directly to the Lead Teacher/Program Director. He/she is responsible for assisting the lead teacher in providing a high-quality learning environment for children in the First-Class Pre-K classroom. The assistant teacher is responsible for ensuring that first class guidelines as well as DHR standards in the classroom are followed at all times.
Age requirements
Auxiliary teachers must be at least 19 years of age or older.
Education Requirements
An auxiliary teacher must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
· Possess a high school diploma or GED.
· Possess a Child Development Associate credential (CDA) OR at least 9 credit hours of college coursework in the field of Early Childhood Education or Child Development from a regionally accredited institution.
All college coursework must be from an institution that has received regional accreditation.
Additional Requirements
· Current Medical/TB Test (Clear)
· Satisfactory Criminal Background Check
· Possess appropriate experience (at least 12 months) working in early childhood or experience in other OSR approved settings.
