Job Description
As an Inside Machinist, you are responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of various ship machinery and systems. You set up, service, repair, align, and test machines that operate on a mechanical and electro-mechanical basis. Skilled with precision you utilize tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to repair machine parts to manufacturer specifications. After evaluating procedures, you recommend changes related to the efficiency of setup and production.

**Days and Hours: **
Full Time position; 1st shift (7:30am to 4:00pm); 40 hours per week.
Evenings and weekends are required when needed.
Complete work schedule will be discussed with applicant.
Pay
$24.95 per hour; depends on experience. Benefits are offered.

- Three (3) years of machiningexperience
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Shipyard experience is preferred
- General knowledge about ships and machinery
- Ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
- Ability to read micrometers with low tolerance
- Ability to run all inside shop equipment
- Ability to prepare written mechanical evaluations
- Ability to read and work from blueprints
