Essential Duties And Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Project manage and supervise all rope access / at height activities for GCES as per policies and procedures.
- Manage all rope access and safety equipment as per standards and procedures
- Provide rope access support and service to GCES groups when requested.
- Support all offshore operations when requested by management.
- Perform inspections as per qualifications.
- Performs inspections at height utilizing ropes where required
- Preparation and support of inspection reports and sketches for work scopes
- Support in business development role when requested by sales team members.
- Performs general maintenance tasks, such as visual inspections, painting, bolting, and rigging at height utilizing ropes.
- Welding at height from ropes as necessary (if qualified).
- Knowledgeable in the applicable construction codes.
- Responsible for safe work practices, as well as risk assessment.
- Always follow all company procedures and policies.
- Support organizational compliance with IRATA / SPRAT standards and regulations to ensure the safe and effective performance of work.
- Liaise with client representatives and provide expert advice regarding rope access techniques
- Compile technical information for work packs and review final documents prior to issue.
- Maintain and audit paperwork with respect to equipment, procedures, training, competency and safety.
- Provide prompt reporting with respect to HSE and integrity related issues, as appropriate.
- High School/GED required.
- This classification requires a current Rope Access Certification level III
- Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, as well as in an office-controlled environment.
- You must wear hearing, eyes, head protection and proper PPE as per policy.
- Climbing and lifting involved.
- Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
- Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
- Aboard ships, rigs, both on and offshore as well as in confined spaces.
- NDT inspection measuring and testing equipment.
- General Computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand codes/specifications, sketches, and technical manuals.
- Level 3 rope access qualification.
- Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
- Strong Organizational and management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High performance and a strong team player.
