Job Summary
Gulf Coast Social Services is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Vice President of Finance, Accounting & Administrative Operations to join our Executive Leadership Team. This newly created role reflects the continued growth of the Agency and the need for strong executive leadership over finance, accounting, information technology, financial workflows, reporting, and administrative systems.
Reporting directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer, this position will provide leadership and oversight for the Agency’s financial operations, accounting compliance, internal controls, budgeting, financial reporting, IT coordination, and administrative process improvement. The successful candidate will help strengthen financial performance, improve workflows, develop policies and procedures, enhance reporting, and ensure that GCSS has the systems and structure needed to support high-quality services across the state.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in nonprofit, healthcare, human services, Medicaid-funded, government-funded, or multi-site financial operations. This person must be comfortable working across departments, supporting executive decision-making, improving systems, and helping program and regional leaders better understand financial performance.
Duties
- Provide executive leadership over finance, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and related administrative operations.
- Partner with the CEO to develop financial strategies that support long-term sustainability, growth, and mission impact.
- Develop and improve financial policies, accounting workflows, reporting tools, approval processes, and internal controls.
- Monitor financial performance across programs, regions, and service lines.
- Lead or support annual budgeting, financial projections, audit preparation, and financial analysis.
- Strengthen reporting systems that help leadership understand revenue, expenses, staffing costs, program performance, cash flow, and financial trends.
- Oversee or coordinate IT systems, technology vendors, software platforms, and technology-related workflows.
- Work closely with Operations, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Finance, Billing, and Program Leadership to improve communication, efficiency, compliance, and accountability.
- Support training for managers and regional leaders on financial policies, budget expectations, purchasing procedures, reporting requirements, and administrative workflows.
- Represent the Agency with auditors, CPA firms, financial institutions, consultants, vendors, funders, and other external partners as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree, CPA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, nonprofit administration, healthcare finance, human services finance, or related operations.
- Senior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with nonprofit, Medicaid-funded, healthcare, human services, government-funded, or multi-site organizations strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with budgeting, financial reporting, audits, internal controls, accounting systems, billing processes, payroll coordination, and financial compliance.
- Experience with IT systems, software implementation, technology vendors, or administrative systems preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create practical policies, workflows, and reports that improve performance and accountability.
Pay: $10,000.00 - $10,750.00 per month
