What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sleep Technician position at Gulf Coast Sleep Center?
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of polysomnography experience with staging ability
- Certified by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (CPSGT) OR Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) preferred
- Bilingual a plus
- Knowledge of Somnostar Software Program
- Job Description:
- Prepares for and conducts overnight sleep studies, reviews patient records, examines orders and protocols for study and recognizes chief complaints.
- Interviews patient to assess current medications, recent alcohol or caffeine ingestion, current sleep pattern and need for treatment intervention during study.
- Monitors polysomnogram during patient study.
- Adheres to safety, sanitation and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Promotes individual growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
- Ensures the safety and welfare of patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards of the lab.
