Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with physical assessments.
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support when necessary.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient information, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance details, updating medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic flow.
- Perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection, wound dressing changes, and basic physiology assessments to support diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards.
- Proven experience in outpatient settings such as gynecology clinics or urgent care centers; hospital or Level I/II trauma center experience is highly valued.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management for accurate documentation.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
- Skilled in performing phlebotomy, medication administration, and vital signs collection.
- Ability to manage medical records efficiently while supporting medical office management tasks.
