Primary Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner
- Check patients in and out utilizing eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and applicable patient payments
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
- Process digital registrations and patient intake through Phreesia
- Maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, and contact information
- Answer multi-line telephone systems and route calls appropriately
- Assist patients with portal access and basic technology-related questions
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, nurses, and support staff
- Manage incoming faxes, scanning, and electronic documentation
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
- Support front office operations and other administrative duties as assigned
- Position may float between offices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in a medical office, healthcare front desk, patient registration, or related healthcare setting
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn healthcare software systems
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Experience with Phreesia or electronic patient intake platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Insurance verification and authorization experience
- Experience with insurance eligibility portals and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans
- Experience with Medicare Advantage plans, WellMed, Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Ambetter preferred
- Experience collecting patient balances and discussing financial responsibility
- Bilingual English/Spanish
