About the Position
Gulf Coast Medical Center is seeking a dependable and skilled Handyman / Maintenance Technician with experience in carpentry, mechanical repair, and lawn care to maintain and support multiple medical office locations.
This position plays a key role in keeping our clinics safe, clean, and well-maintained for patients and staff.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in property upkeep, is mechanically inclined, and takes pride in the appearance and function of the facilities they maintain.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs across multiple office sites
- Carpentry work (doors, trim, shelving, cabinetry, and minor construction)
- Mechanical repair and troubleshooting for office fixtures, equipment, and tools
- Light plumbing and electrical work (switches, outlets, leaks, and lighting)
- Painting, drywall patching, ceiling tile replacement, and fixture installation
- HVAC filter changes and preventive maintenance checks
- Lawn and Grounds Care: mowing, edging, trimming, debris removal, light irrigation checks, and general exterior maintenance
- Maintain tools, materials, and maintenance logs
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in general maintenance, handyman, or facilities repair
- Strong mechanical and carpentry background required
- Experience with lawn care and outdoor property upkeep preferred
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems helpful
- Prior work in medical or professional office settings preferred
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed for inter-office travel)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely operate tools and maintenance equipment
- Must be comfortable with indoor and outdoor work, including light lawn equipment
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor in a medical office environment
- Must pass a background check prior to employment
- References or prior work samples encouraged
