Gulf Coast Medical Center is seeking a dependable, technology-minded individual for a flexible part-time IT Support Technician position. Working directly with our Senior Systems Administrator, you will gain practical experience supporting a multi-site medical organization while developing skills in desktop support, networking, cybersecurity, hardware deployment, and healthcare information systems.
This position offers mentorship, training, and exposure to technologies commonly used in healthcare organizations, making it an excellent stepping stone for individuals pursuing careers in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Cybersecurity, or Healthcare IT.
What You'll Learn

Primary ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues
- Respond to support requests through the ticketing system, telephone, and in-person visits
- Troubleshoot and resolve common workstation and peripheral issues
- Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff as appropriate
- Create, update, and manage support tickets within the IT ticketing system
Hardware & Software Deployment
- Configure, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install, update, and maintain software applications
- Assist with workstation setup for new employees and office relocations
Asset Management
- Track and maintain inventory of computers, peripherals, software licenses, and technology assets
- Document equipment assignments and lifecycle information
- Assist with equipment replacement, recycling, and disposal processes
Documentation & Maintenance
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and support activities
- Identify recurring issues and communicate improvement opportunities
- Perform routine system maintenance and updates as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- CompTIA A certification preferred
- Candidates actively pursuing A certification are encouraged to apply
- Associate degree coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred
- Current students and recent graduates are welcomeTechnical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with computer hardware and troubleshooting concepts
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
