Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our clinical team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic outpatient setting, supporting patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, medical office experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient service within a geriatric-focused environment.
Duties
- Assist with patient intake, including recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers with procedures such as phlebotomy, X-ray assistance, and medication administration.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of medical records and patient information.
- Provide patient education on medication use, treatment plans, and health maintenance tailored to geriatric needs.
- Support hospital medicine and outpatient services by coordinating appointments, managing referrals, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
- Monitor patient physiology and vital signs to detect changes requiring immediate attention or further evaluation.
- Assist with basic pharmacology tasks, including medication reconciliation and inventory management within the clinic setting.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a CNA or MA with relevant experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Prior experience working in medical offices with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation practices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and pharmacology principles.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or X-ray are advantageous.
- Experience in inpatient settings such as ICU or trauma centers is preferred; familiarity with geriatrics and internal medicine enhances suitability.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
