Intermodal Dispatcher
Gulf Coast Intermodal is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Operations Department. GCI has built an impressive trucking resource that includes 80 trucks serving 6 states to and from all countries in the world. We provide trucking services (intermodal containers) warehouse services, and container yard. This position would be carrying out the responsibilities of the Operations Department and ensuring the company accuracy in its day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
-Assigning containers with drivers and customers with street-turn proficiency.
-Maintaining communication with customers and drivers.
-Schedule and analysis imports and exports.
-Account Management of assigned Customers
-Ensure on time pickups and deliveries to meet our Customer’s needs
-Ensure Driver safety, including DOT compliance, safe working conditions, and maintaining GCI’s Standards & Policies
-Assist Drivers with inquiries in regards to availability, mileage, fuel cards, and other obstacles throughout the day
-Assist with other requests made of the Operations Department
-Experience in the intermodal industry is a plus.
Qualifications and Skills:
-Looking for someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, has excellent organizational skills, and possess the ability to multitask and prioritize
-Must possess good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
-Possess proficient computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook and AS400
-Prior knowledge of the Intermodal industry
-Basic understanding of Maintenance Breakdowns
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
