Role Description The Electrical Design Engineer role is a full-time position based in Clearwater, FL, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing electrical designs and layouts for commercial, residential, and specialty projects, preparing drawings and specifications, and performing load calculations and power distribution planning. The role involves coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines, reviewing plans for code compliance and constructability, and supporting project documentation and permitting. The Electrical Design Engineer will also assist with design revisions, respond to RFIs, and provide technical support during construction. The position requires careful attention to safety, adherence to industry standards, and consistent communication with internal and external project teams.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering. 3 Years experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; PE licensure or EIT certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC) and familiarity with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, produce clear documentation, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience with generator systems, solar installations, or home automation is beneficial.
