Gulf Asset Recovery is an industrial surplus sales business with multiple locations across Louisiana, with headquarters based out of Lafayette, LA. We operate an e-commerce platform with multiple sales channels and warehouse our wide array of inventory that ships worldwide.
Operations / Fulfillment Associate: A multifaceted position blending hands-on demolition/material handling work with online sales and inventory management. Candidate would be responsible for fulfilling orders through various carriers and means of transportation, maintaining cleanliness and safety of warehouse operations, and assisting with occasional offsite projects. This unique role involves the safe removal of various types of items, followed by the identification, preparation, and listing of these items for resale on our e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will be adept at both physical labor, including demolition/dismantling, and detail-oriented computer work, ensuring that all removal operations are conducted safely with products protected and all orders are accurately fulfilled and properly packaged.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order fulfillment - pull and prepare orders for shipping in boxes and/or palletized freight
- Maintain a clean and organized work site and processing area
- Disassemble, pack, remove and safely transport inventory from offsite locations using company vehicle and trailer
- Minor demo work and rigging as required to safely acquire, protect and transport inventory
- Operate basic machinery and power tools (e.g. drills, saws, small lifting equipment)
- Occasionally signal heavy equipment operators to ensure the correct positioning and movement of materials
- Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks and storage containers, transporting items to designated sorting areas.
- Responsible for operating warehouse and yard equipment in a safe manner and reporting any equipment maintenance or problems to your immediate supervisor
- Receive, sort, clean, organize and prepare inventory for listing
- Accurately pick and fulfill orders while maintaining inventory quantities and storage locations
- Manage product data, including accurate dimensions, condition descriptions, and pricing using spreadsheets and inventory management systems
- Package, seal, label and store listed inventory in appropriate areas
- Respond to customer inquiries about listed products and potentially handle sales transactions
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with basic e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, eBay) and data entry is highly beneficial
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand, power, and air tools.
- Strong attention to detail, especially for identifying valuable items and creating accurate online listings.
- Basic computer skills and experience with spreadsheets and image editing
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experienced candidates with electrical system controls knowledge (circuit breakers, switches, relays, contactors, transformers, etc.) or mechanical knowledge (industrial and marine engines, generators, gears, etc) is preferred
- Candidate must have exceptional level of attention to detail and a drive for gaining new experiences and knowledge of a very wide range of products and equipment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Can pass a required Drug Screen, Physical and Physical Evaluation
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items, bending, and standing for long periods
- Must have experience in shipping and logistics
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments (indoors/outdoors, potentially dusty or noisy sites
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand, power, and air tools
- Ability to read and write and have basic math skills.
- Ability to operate equipment (e.g. forklift)
- Capable of lifting, hauling, and performing manual duties as required
- Ability to use a computer

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
