What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER TIME MOVER/HELPER position at Guindon Moving and Storage?
Join our family-owned and operated team this summer as a Mover/Helper and be part of an energetic, fast-paced environment dedicated to helping customers and clients with their moving needs! Both Guindon Moving Negaunee/Marquette, along with our Escanaba companies, have openings available starting in early May/June of this summer. Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday, with the potential for occasional Saturday shifts available.

As a Summer Mover/Helper, you will assist with loading, unloading, and transporting items efficiently and safely while gaining valuable experience in moving operations and logistics.
This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse handling, moving, and logistics - all while working with a variety of clients. This position is for 30 hours with a Monday through Friday schedule. Starting wage is $17 on up, depending on experience. Several positions are open at our Negaunee/Marquette locations, along with our Escanaba location.
Duties
- Safely load and unload furniture, boxes, and other items throughout the Upper Peninsula
- Assist with packing, organizing, and preparing items for transport to ensure efficient delivery or storage
- Working with commercial clients with assembly, logistics, and setup of new furniture throughout the Upper Peninsula
- Help with warehouse responsibilities, which include loading and unloading trucks, inventory procedures, and safely storing clients' items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency during all moving activities
Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or warehouse work is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods during busy moving days
- Experience with using pallet jacks, forklifts, and general moving equipment is helpful but not required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record or reliable way to get to work is essential. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward assisting others in fast-paced environments
