JOB DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the store by performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks. This role involves handling repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that all store facilities and equipment are in good working order.


The top three results this position is responsible for achieving are:


1.      Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections of store facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and refrigeration units. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to avoid equipment failures and ensure smooth operation.

2.      Repairs and Troubleshooting: Address and repair issues related to fuel dispensers, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and plumbing systems.

3.      Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards. Report and address any safety hazards or code violations.



Responsibilities and Duties:


·        Maintenance and Repairs:

o  Perform preventive and routine maintenance on fuel dispensers, electrical components, HVAC systems, plumbing, and associated equipment.

o  Conduct regular inspections of all station systems including pumps, nozzles, and filtration systems.

o  Address maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime and service interruptions.

·        Facility Upkeep:

o  Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the fuel station, including the convenience store, restrooms, and exterior areas.

o  Ensure that all signage, lighting, and safety equipment are in good working condition.

o  Assist with the setup and maintenance of promotional displays and other station features.

·        Safety and Compliance:

o  Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards specific to fuel handling and storage.

o  Perform routine checks to prevent and address potential leaks or spills.

o  Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

·      Vendor Coordination:

o  Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance that cannot be performed in-house.

o  Oversee the quality of work performed by outside service providers.

·        Inventory Management:

o  Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary.

o  Keep track of maintenance-related expenses and report them as needed.

·        Customer Service:

o  Address maintenance-related issues raised by store staff or customers in a timely and professional manner.

o  Ensure that maintenance activities do not disrupt store operations or customer experience.

·        Documentation:

o  Maintain records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory usage.

o  Prepare reports on maintenance issues and resolutions for review by management.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role
  • Proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with other team members and external contractors
  • Capability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
