We are seeking a detail-oriented QMS Specialist to ensure product and process quality across our manufacturing operations. The QMS Specialist will develop and implement quality control systems, drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements. This role combines hands-on problem solving with data-driven quality methods to reduce defects, improve yield, and support production ramp-ups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain quality control plans and inspection criteria for manufacturing processes
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and reduce recurrence
  • Monitor product and process performance using statistical methods (SPC) and quality metrics; report trends and recommend improvements
  • Conduct first article inspections, incoming inspection, in-process audits, and final product verification
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions
  • Create and maintain documentation including FMEAs, control plans, inspection instructions, and test procedures
  • Train production and quality teams on inspection methods, quality standards and continuous improvement tools
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on producibility and design-for-quality
  • Use data analysis tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and defect prevention

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role or similar position
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and industry-specific requirements
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
  • Proficiency with measurement and test equipment, GD&T, and inspection techniques
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments and production quality issues
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies; certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with quality management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel)
