Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain quality control plans and inspection criteria for manufacturing processes
- Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and reduce recurrence
- Monitor product and process performance using statistical methods (SPC) and quality metrics; report trends and recommend improvements
- Conduct first article inspections, incoming inspection, in-process audits, and final product verification
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions
- Create and maintain documentation including FMEAs, control plans, inspection instructions, and test procedures
- Train production and quality teams on inspection methods, quality standards and continuous improvement tools
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements
- Participate in design reviews to provide input on producibility and design-for-quality
- Use data analysis tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and defect prevention
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field) or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role or similar position
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and industry-specific requirements
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
- Proficiency with measurement and test equipment, GD&T, and inspection techniques
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments and production quality issues
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies; certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with quality management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel)
