Position Summary The Community & Events Coordinator builds meaningful
connections between Guido\'s and the wider community through engaging
programs, partnerships, and in-store experiences. This role develops and
manages demos, events, sponsorships, and community initiatives that
delight and educate customers, support local organizations, and
strengthen Guido\'s reputation as a vibrant, community-centered
marketplace. Working closely with store teams, vendors, and local
partners, the coordinator helps to bring Guido\'s mission to life.
Public Relations & Media - Works with Marketing Manager to develop PR
strategy, messaging, and editorial calendar for earned media. - Builds
and maintains media lists; drafts and distributes press releases, media
advisories, op-eds, and talking points. Community Engagement &
Partnerships - Oversees Round Up program end-to-end: applications,
selection with ownership, recipient communications, scheduling,
materials. - Manages donation requests, approvals, and fulfillment
(checks, gift cards) in partnership with the Accounting Department. -
Cultivates relationships with nonprofits, schools, arts and community
organizations; identify partnership and storytelling opportunities. -
Works with ownership to ensure representation at Guido\'s orientations,
community events, and relevant meetings. - Negotiates and communicates
local ticket opportunities for staff. Event Planning & Execution -
Plans, organizes, and executes community-facing events including
Cookbook Club, demos, seasonal and holiday events, customer appreciation
events, live music, and off-site appearances throughout the county. -
Works with the Marketing team to create event concepts and serves as the
point person for all storewide events. - Coordinates with all necessary
departments to ensure smooth execution and alignment with store
operations. - Manages event logistics including staffing, recipes,
supplies, rentals, permits, and budget tracking. - Writes function
sheets, oversees setup and breakdown, and conducts post-event debriefs
and analysis with relevant departments. - Ensures presence at both store
locations during major events whenever possible. Demos & In-Store
Experiences - Develops and manages the demo program across both stores
in coordination with the Natural Foods Demo Coordinator and other
departments. - Creates and executes simple, engaging recipes that
highlight key products such as sale items or seasonal produce. -
Conducts demos regularly and coordinates staff participation as
needed. - Maintains demo schedules, communicates updates to staff, and
ensures both demo stations are fully stocked and maintained in
collaboration with the Natural Foods Demo Coordinator. Marketing &
Communication - Collaborates with the Marketing Manager and team to
promote events and demos through in-store signage, recipe cards, and
other marketing materials. - Contributes to advertising strategies and
community outreach efforts to increase event visibility and engagement.
Qualifications - 1-2 years in public relations, community relations, or
communications; retail/food or nonprofit experience preferred. -
Writing/editing ability across press materials, speeches, and community
updates. - Event planning and community partnership development
experience; strong facilitation skills. Physical Requirements - Ability
to sit, stand, and move through stores during shifts. - Frequent use of
hands for keyboarding, proofing, and materials handling. - Ability to
lift up to 10-15 lbs. as needed. - Ability to hear and respond to phones
and in-person conversations. - Valid Driver\'s License. - Ability to
