Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Drafter to support our automation and controls engineering team by producing accurate electrical schematics and panel layout drawings for custom industrial equipment and automated systems. This role focuses on translating engineer designs into detailed construction and manufacturing-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using AutoCAD
- Develop detailed drawings for:
- PLC control panels
- Motor control circuits
- Sensors, safety devices, and I/O wiring
- Power distribution for automated machinery
- Update drawings based on engineering changes, redlines, and field feedback
- Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and wire lists from drawings
- Coordinate with controls engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams
- Support shop floor and field technicians with drawing clarifications
- Maintain drawing standards, title blocks, and revision control
- Assist with as-built documentation after equipment installation
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as an Electrical Drafter or Controls Drafter in a manufacturing or automation environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics and panel layouts
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Working knowledge of industrial control components (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, sensors)
- Understanding of basic electrical codes and machine safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial automation, machine builders, or systems integrators
- Familiarity with UL 508A panel design standards
- Experience creating panel layouts and wire numbering schemes
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Electrical Technology, or related field

Salary : $57,500 - $67,500
