Get paid to play! We are seeking a energetic and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children with developmental disabilities including autism, to implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) while supporting their sensory needs. Your primary focus will be on creating teachable moments through playful discovery, collecting data, and ensuring the well-being of clients while fostering a positive and engaging environment. Perfect for those interested in gaining experience in the areas of education, special education, psychology, human services, social work, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or physical therapy.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including home and community environments.
- Collect and record data on client progress and behaviors to assist in ongoing assessments and treatment planning.
- Engage with clients using evidence-based strategies to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors with an empathetic approach.
- Collaborate with families, team members, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and neurodiversity.
- Provide support to preschool and social skills groups.
Skills
- Desire to learn behavioral therapy techniques, particularly Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM).
- Experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism.
- Ability to learn about data collection methods for tracking client progress.
- Interest in or knowledge of special education practices and working with people with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
