We are seeking a Construction Manager (CM) to join our team and manage construction of our design projects. Guided Design is a full service design, custom cabinetry and general contracting firm, specializing in kitchen and bathrooms, built-ins, whole home remodels/interior residential projects in the Chicago area. This unique, hands-on role is responsible for managing our residential renovation projects in the field. An extensive building background and ability to problem solve and think thoroughly is a key requirement. The ideal candidate is a skilled trades person with a proven track record in construction management, capable of leading our internal crews, managing subcontractors, and ensuring high-quality construction and efficiency. Work with design team, custom cabinet shop, and internal field team and subcontractors.Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections, take pictures and upload to construction management software. Prep and clean job sites. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specificationsSkilled Labor: Perform hands-on tasks in areas such as demolition, framing, drywall, finish carpentry, etc.Problem-Solving: Serve as the primary technical expert for all physical issues at projects, providing efficient and effective solutions.Design knowledge: Must be able to read intention of designs, scrutinize details, and improve designs through final construction!Qualifications:Experience: 10 years of direct experience in residential construction, specifically trade skills such as carpentry, framing, cabinetry and general construction.Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Chicago Building Codes, safety regulations and construction best practices.Logistics: Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable truck or work vehicle, and own a comprehensive set of personal tools.Design experience: Must have extensive knowledge of design and finishing details, as well as structural and MEP design and functioningCompany DescriptionGuided Design Cabinetry & Interiors is an interior design and general contracting company located in Lincoln Park with a custom shop in Niles, IL. Virtually all of our projects are interior renovations, so working outside during the winter is not expected.
Salary : $45 - $55
