OVERALL SUMMARY:

The Planned Giving Associate supports the organization’s planned giving program by assisting with donor stewardship, administrative coordination, and program growth initiatives. This role helps cultivate and maintain relationships with donors who choose to support the organization through legacy gifts such as bequests, trusts, retirement assets, and other planned giving vehicles.


The Planned Giving Associate works closely with the Development team to ensure donors receive exceptional service and that planned giving efforts are accurately tracked and effectively promoted.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and prioritize stewardship of planned giving donors and legacy society members.
  • Draft donor correspondence including acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and stewardship communications.
  • Plan outreach efforts such as newsletters, donor updates, and planned giving marketing materials.
  • Maintain relationships with prospective legacy donors through calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of planned gifts and donor interactions in the donor database/CRM.
  • Track and document planned gift commitments and related donor information.
  • Prepare reports and data analysis related to planned giving activity.
  • Assist with gift processing and ensure proper documentation of planned gifts.
  • Plan and execute of planned giving events, donor recognition programs, and informational sessions.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives to increase awareness of planned giving opportunities.
  • Coordinate logistics for donor meetings, presentations, and stewardship events.
  • Conduct research to identify potential planned giving prospects.
  • Develop of educational materials explaining planned giving options.
  • Support the Chief Development Officer with special projects and initiatives that grow the legacy giving program.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college (preferably in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing or other related field). 
  • Experience with donor stewardship or relationship management.
  • Familiarity with planned giving concepts such as bequests, trusts, and beneficiary designations.3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in non-profit development/fundraising/planned giving
  • Strong computer skills needed to utilize research tools and implement donor cultivation plans. Experience working with CRM databases necessary.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (oral, written, and listening)
  • Position is highly sensitive and requires impeccable personal and professional integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is required to:

·        stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor

·        drive and/or travel

·        lift 25 pounds and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally


Visual Acuity:

Near acuity and accommodation are required for ability to see and read text and copy of written materials for publishing and to read computer screen. 


Hearing Ability:

Ability to interact with staff and public in an informal or formal way during events or public speaking.


Work Environment:

Employee is exposed to office, kennel and residence environment. This includes animal hair and dander as well as cleaning and antibacterial cleaning solutions.


Compensation Information:

The expected salary range for the position is $65,000 - $70,000 per year. The anticipated starting salary will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
