Trading Assistant/Junior Trader, Senior Associate

Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking a Junior Trader to join our Corporate Credit trading desk. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to develop expertise in the leveraged loan market. The role is collaborative, and the employee will work with credit researchers and portfolio managers daily as well as interface with the sell-side market. As a junior member of the trading team, you will support the execution of bank loan trades, assist with portfolio positioning, and conduct market analysis. This role will be based in our New York City office, full-time, and will report to the Senior Bank Loan Trader.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior traders with day-to-day activities
• Provide research team, PMs, and investment committee with new deal announcements/information from issuing banks
• Produce daily reports on portfolio cash balances and portfolio holdings
• Manage IOI process once credit is approved by investment committee
• Process trade tickets for primary and secondary trades
• Coordinate communication between the trade desk, PM’s and central allocations team
• Provide market levels for PMs and research team on individual securities
• Execute odd lot/smaller trades
  
  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
• 4 years of experience in one of the following: Bank Loan Markets, Trading Desk, or a Financial Analyst in an Asset Management, Financial Services, or Private Equity environment
• Structuring and documentation competence
• Due diligence expertise
• Experience in Bloomberg, Aladdin, WSO, or similar software
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in credit analysis and corporate finance
• Risk Management Acumen: Strong sense of risk management, ensuring sound decision-making and compliance
• Presentation Skills: Ability to produce and present credit-related materials to both internal and external stakeholders effectively
• Process Improvement: Proven ability to work with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Salary Range

Annual base salary between

$115,000.00-$140,000.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
