Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Upholds the highest level of student safety on varied terrain with changing conditions.
- Prepares and plans lessons to meet individual skill needs.
- Instructs guests in groups and private lessons, and teaches proper technique and skills for ability levels.
- Helps guests use the right equipment and accessories and teaches guests how to load and unload lifts.
- Assists in the daily set-up and take down of the Mountain Sports School.
- Follows the Responsibility Code and ensures guest safety on varied terrain in winter weather conditions.
- Reports any injuries or incidents.
- Continually learns and updates teaching, technical and skiing/snowboarding skills based on PSIA/AASI standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Intermediate skill level of riding (preferred)
- PSIA/AASI Certification (preferred but not required)
- Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
- Ability to work with guest of all ages and skill levels.
- Ability to be enthusiastic and outgoing, accepting all assignment with equal enthusiasm.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and coworkers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by guests and coworkers in English.
- Ability to work outside in all winter weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must have sight, speech and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions.
- Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

Requirements
- Strong snowboarding ability
- Enthusiastic, dependable, and able to work with guests of all ages
- Friendly, patient, and safety-minded
- Prior teaching or coaching experience is a plus, but not required
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying winter conditions
