- Weekend Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

About the Role
Guest House Recovery Homes is seeking dependable, caring, patient, friendly, and punctual Caregivers / Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team in Surprise, Arizona.
This position is in a licensed Personal Care Services group home serving adult residents with behavioral health needs. Staff in this role provide direct support with daily routines, supervision, transportation, medication assistance, meal preparation, documentation, and maintaining a safe, clean, and structured home environment.
This is an active, hands-on position that is best suited for someone who enjoys working directly with residents, can remain engaged throughout the shift, and works well as part of a team in a residential home setting. We are looking for individuals who can provide support, encouragement, supervision, and guidance while helping residents strengthen daily living skills in a respectful and supportive environment.
Minimum RequirementsRequired
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or General Educational Development diploma
- Level One Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be able to pass a background check
- At least two years of experience in behavioral health or direct care
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to walk, kneel, bend, stoop, and climb stairs regularly
- Ability to complete written documentation and use a computer for charting
Preferred
- Experience working in a group home or residential behavioral health setting
- Valid Arizona driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience transporting residents
- Experience with medication assistance, documentation, audits, and compliance processes
- Experience working with adult residents in a Personal Care Services or behavioral health residential setting
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and supportive home environment
- Supervise and support residents throughout the shift
- Assist with resident routines, activities, and daily structure
- Help residents with daily living tasks and skill building
- Assist with meal preparation, cooking, meal setup, and kitchen cleanup
- Support residents in learning and practicing cooking and other daily living skills when appropriate
- Attend to residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Use positive behavior support, redirection, and appropriate intervention techniques as needed
- Lead or assist with recreational, therapeutic, and social activities
- Observe and monitor resident behavior, safety, and overall well-being throughout the shift
- Complete progress notes, incident reports, communication logs, and other required documentation each day
- Review shift communication and resident information daily
- Assist with medication processes in accordance with policy and procedure
- Help coordinate appointments, errands, and community-based activities as needed
- Transport residents to appointments, errands, and activities when assigned
- Communicate professionally with staff, providers, case managers, and other members of the care team
- Respect each resident’s privacy, dignity, individuality, and rights
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions when needed
- Help orient or train new staff when assigned
- Follow all licensing standards, policies, contractual requirements, and house procedures
Physical Requirements
- Vision must be adequate to read written correspondence, forms, medication records, and computer screens
- Good hand coordination and manual dexterity are required
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs regularly
- Ability to remain active and engaged in the home throughout the shift
Schedule
- Afternoon shifts: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Weekend 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekend 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Holidays as needed
- Additional shifts may become available based on program needs
