The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Requirements:
Must be 21 or older
High School Diploma or GED Required
Two years of experience working with Preferred
in a group home setting.
A Valid Arizona driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is preffered
MUST have Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Azalene Villa. As staff members of our group home, we care for a vulnerable population. We expect Azalene staff to abide by Arizona laws.
General Role Functions
The main responsibility is to maintain a safe, productive, pleasant, and safe environment while providing support, supervision, and guidance at the Guest House group homes. The staff will accomplish this by implementing, monitoring, and documenting the daily schedule, directing interactions, utilizing positive behavioral skills, and facilitating therapeutic, recreational, and social skills. Demonstrate positive role model skills and appropriate ethical behavior while adhering to agency standards of practice for clients, staff, and the public.
Specific Role Functions
- Coordinate and oversee the daily living routine for all clients.
- Attend to the physical and emotional needs of clients.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
- Manage client medication process, including administration, audit, and compliance with Policies & Procedures.
- Arrange all appointments (medical, legal, educational, etc.). Communicate with
providers and advocates for care/services.
- Accurately document all pertinent information regarding clients; actively seek out and review all documentation daily.
- Additional daily duties will include, but are not limited to, transporting clients in the AV van and supervising clients as they perform daily living tasks.
- Ensures that clients’ need for privacy and individuality is respected.
- Writes and reviews incident reports regarding individuals’ daily activities and progress notes daily.
Intakes &
- Facilitate any client intakes and/or discharges
Effectively communicate with staff regarding all aspects of quality care for our clients.
- Orient and train new staff to the group home, the program, and clients.
Additional
- Assist in and offer input regarding all aspects of staff development and HR functions.
Supervisory
- Build cohesive partnerships with Caseworkers, ensuring timely communication
Responsibilities regarding clients – including, but not limited to: daily/weekly updates, progress reports, and service plans.
- Maintain all Licensing and Contractual obligations, deadlines, and expectations in the home and with the clients.
Other Requirements:
Vision must be adequate to read correspondence, computer screens, forms, etc. The position requires good manual dexterity. The position requires lifting up to 40 pounds. The position requires walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, and climbing stairs regularly.
