Project Cost Estimator

Guerdon is the premier manufacturer of wood-framed, multi-family, industrial workforce housing, and light commercial modular buildings. Proudly made in the USA at our facility in Boise, Idaho, we serve clients across the Western United States and Canada, primarily in the hospitality and housing industries. With a strong focus on multi-family and multi-story apartments and hotels, our projects are custom-built to meet local codes, client specifications, and architectural design requirements.

Guerdon LLC is seeking an experienced Project Cost Estimator. The position will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of construction cost estimates. Other duties will include assisting in defining construction contract documents, costing process improvements, and calculating actual project related costs.

Responsibilities:

• Read architectural and related drawings and specifications to gain understanding of the scope of work for assigned projects.
• Preparation of detailed estimates on a line-item basis, using the company’s pre-established estimate format and software platform, including the utilization of NetSuite, Bluebeam and Excel.
• Perform conceptual estimating or ROM (rough order of magnitude) for proposed projects.
• Manage document control for projects, including revisions and distribution to bidders and trade partners and ensure documentation is saved by project.
• Coordinates with the project team (including Project Management, Business Development, Purchasing, and Management) to provide support to an assigned project lifecycle.
• Review and compile actual costs related to assigned projects as they are produced in the plant.
• Perform variance analysis of actual vs estimate costs and report results to Leadership.
• Periodically review costing estimates for continued accuracy to current costs and build standards.
• Maintain superior customer service interactions with clients, architects, engineers, general contractors and vendors.
• Pursue continuous improvements in process, procedures and refinements in the estimating group.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, or demonstrated equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience developing accurate conceptual through detailed cost estimates.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications; Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and Bluebeam desired
• Proven experience working efficiently in team environment and establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, general contractors and vendors.
• Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance with the ability to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.

• Ability to work on-site during regular business hours of 8-5 M-F

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
• Light to moderately lifting.
• Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
• Ability to work in shared space.
