The Gubelin Gem Lab in New York is seeking a motivated and driven Sales Specialist to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new partnerships across the United States.
As an internationally respected independent gemological laboratory, we combine rigorous science with deep expertise to provide trusted analysis of identity, authenticity, treatments, origin, and quality. Our services support dealers, jewelers, collectors, auction houses, and private clients in making confident, informed decisions.
In this role, you will actively promote our full range of laboratory services, working closely with clients in key markets such as New York, California, Florida, and Texas. Your focus will be on deepening these relationships, expanding engagement, and identifying new business opportunities.
In addition, you will be promoting our Provenance Proof service and support the growth of our educational offerings by promoting our gemology academy courses, helping clients and professionals further their knowledge in gemstones, treatments, and basic gemological science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients across the U.S.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the jewelry and gemstone trade
- Promote and sell the lab’s gemological services, ensuring clients understand the value of our reports
- Actively expand client engagement in key regional markets
- Promote and expand "Provenance Proof" which is our technology platform for the gems and jewelery industry that uses DNA-based physical tags and blockchain to track a gemstone’s origin and journey, providing verifiable proof of authenticity, sourcing, and handling
- Achieve revenue growth with gem lab services
- Drive enrollment and awareness of our gemology academy courses
- Represent the laboratory at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional client experience and service delivery
- Resolve customer complaints, develop solutions, and provide recommendations to management
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management
- Min. 3-5 years’ experience in the gemstone or jewelry industry in the U.S. (New York market is a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to build trust with high-value clients in a niche, expertise-driven industry
- Interest in gemstones, jewelry, or luxury goods (experience in the trade is a plus)
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. as needed
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
