What You'll Do | Delivery Driver Responsibilities
As a Non CDL Delivery Driver and Package Courier with Guardians of the Last Mile, your day will be active, structured, and rewarding. Key responsibilities include:
- Report to our warehouse location each morning for route assignment and package loadout
- Load and unload packages at the warehouse using proper manual handling techniques and material handling equipment, including pick carts
- Follow your navigated delivery route using GPS and mobile device technology to maximize efficiency and on-time performance
- Safely operate a branded company delivery van throughout your assigned route
- Deliver packages accurately to residential and commercial locations, following all delivery instructions and ensuring proper package handling
- Provide outstanding customer service as the face of our company — you are the final step in every delivery
- Adhere to all traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and safe lifting practices throughout every delivery shift
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, complete shift reports, vehicle inspection documentation, and report any route delays or incidents
- Return to the warehouse at the end of your shift to complete closeout procedures
Delivery Driver Requirements | Non CDL Driver
This is a Delivery Driver – no CDL required position. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with experience as a courier, warehouse associate, or general driver. Requirements include:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions and navigating variable route locations
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries and stay on schedule
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to operate a mobile device for route navigation, communication, and record keeping
- Warehouse experience, including material handling and operating equipment such as pick carts, is preferred but not required
- Prior experience as a delivery driver, courier, or commercial driver (box trucks, vans) is a plus but not required
