Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Providing medication administration and monitoring to ensure compliance with prescribed regimens.
- Supporting individuals with mobility and physical tasks to enhance their independence.
- Engaging clients in social activities and providing companionship to promote emotional well-being.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Documenting patient care activities and reporting any changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
Experience
Preferred qualifications for the Personal Care Assistant position include:
- PSS Certificate or able to get PSS Certificate within 9 months and start the class within 2 months of being hired.
- Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
- Prefer one (1) year experience in the care of clients.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Prefer a High School diploma or equivalent.
