Position Summary
The Septic Service Technician is responsible for safely operating a Class B CDL vacuum truck, pumping residential and commercial septic systems, diagnosing system issues, and performing septic repairs. This position requires someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, communicates well with customers, and takes pride in leaving every property better than they found it.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience pumping septic tanks and/or performing septic service work
- Clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate commercial equipment
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
Preferred
- Experience repairing septic systems
- Knowledge of septic tanks, drain fields, pump systems, lift stations, and distribution boxes
- Experience operating excavators or other heavy equipment
- Georgia Septic Tank Pumper License (or ability to obtain if not currently licensed)
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a vacuum truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Pump residential and commercial septic tanks
- Inspect septic systems during service and identify maintenance or repair needs
- Perform septic repairs including drain lines, baffles, risers, filters, pump systems, distribution boxes, and related components
- Troubleshoot septic system failures and recommend appropriate solutions
- Complete required paperwork, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately
- Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean working order
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, contractors, and inspectors
- Maintain clean job sites and treat every customer's property with care and respect
- Participate in emergency service calls when needed
- Follow all company safety procedures
