Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote independence and self-esteem
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs
- Facilitate social and recreational activities to enhance client engagement
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients at all times
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in direct support or caregiving roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client outings
- Willingness to work extended weekend shifts
- Commitment to promoting client dignity and respect in all interactions
