POSITION PURPOSE:

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational efficiency of our programs and staff. The Executive Director provides leadership and overall management in conducting the purpose and policies of the organization.

 

Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or finance preferred. Experience in lieu of BA with minimum of 4 years in a manager or director role preferably in a healthcare setting.

NJ Mental Health Locations Only:

Master’s degree in human services

PA Locations Only:
Bachelor’s degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, business management

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 2 years administrative and management setting familiarity, with Performance Improvement and Joint Commission Standards.

NJ Mental Health Locations Only:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field with a minimum of two years supervisory experience.

PA Locations Only:
3 Years of experience in human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting, which includes supervision of others, direct service and program planning. 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

CPR

NJ Mental Health Locations Only:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Approved Clinical Supervisor

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

  • Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
  • Knowledge of community healthy resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity including:
  • Knowledge of referral procedures and admittance criteria for health care and community providers.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and other social and cultural agencies that can provide services to the patients and families.
  • Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes:
  • Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.
  • Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.

Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:

  • Confidentiality
  • Patient Rights
  • Professional Code of Ethics
  • Discrimination
  • Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

  1. Execute clinical philosophy.
  2. Supervise direct reports to ensure performance of duties consistent with job description.
  3. Identify deficiencies in programming and establish improvement measures.
  4. Engage in direct client care is sufficient to evaluate and contribute to clients’ experience in treatment.
  5. Maintain & uphold the highest standard of excellent, effective treatment.
  6. Promote the program to the community & other providers of substance use treatment.
  7. Ensure clinical and residential environments are safe and conducive to GRN’s treatment modality.
  8. Educate staff on clinical philosophy and company mission.
  9. Provide leadership and direction to all employees.
  10. Create a positive work environment for all employees.
  11. Identify cost saving measures & present to the ownership and financial department.
  12. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and licensing organizations.
  13. Participate in the hiring and termination process.
  14. Devise schedule & methods for departments to interface consistently with one another to ensure effective intra-organizational communication.
  15. Manage state-specific Critical Incident Reporting procedures.
  16. Manage client grievance procedure.
  17. Serve as Administrator of Facility designee for state licensing purposes.
  18. Monitor all facets of the program to ensure integrity of GRN’s mission.
  19. Evaluate morale & health of the client community and take direct action to improve the community when indicated.
  20. Monitor staffing patterns to ensure sufficient coverage in all departments.
  21. Conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  22. Supervise all clinical staff members and activities, which include monitoring groups, individual therapy, and charting to maintain the highest standard of quality and effectiveness.
  23. Coordinate with program administration.
  24. Monitor and assess staff morale and develop ongoing plans to build team spirit and continuity.
  25. Adhere to the center’s philosophy, goals, and objectives of GRN, LLC.
  26. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward co-workers, clients, and guests. 
  27. Contribute to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated manner, keeping a positive interaction.
  28. Make timely requests for annual leaves and report for sick leave according to GRN, LLC policy.
  29. Establish and achieve realistic goals within the position.
  30. Ensure and maintain the confidential nature of all client and facility activities.
  31. Maintain an effective organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.
  32. Build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
  33. Work collaboratively with the C-Suite team.
  34. Knowledge of administrative, personnel and clinical policies and procedures, and ability to comply and communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  35. Knowledge of emergency procedure; ability to communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.
  36. Maintain an effective and efficient daily staffing pattern within budgetary constraints.
  37. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  38. Always follow Infection Control Guidelines.
  39. Initiate appropriate counseling and disciplinary action for infraction of policy in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  40. Attend quarterly meetings for the following committees: Performance Improvement. Leadership/Administrative Committee, Safety and Risk Management Committee, Credentialing/HR, Clinical Peer Review Committee & Quality Committee.
  41. Identify as the Designee for the Quality Committee and manage all responsibilities associated with such a position.
  42. Identify as the Audit Staff for Quality and will prepare for and sit through on-site audits.
  43. Identify as KIPU Super Admin and manage all responsibilities associated with such a position. 
  44. Facilitate monthly meetings with each assigned committee in accordance with frequency guidelines and takes minutes and/or assigns a person on each committee to be responsible for meeting minutes.
  45. Attend Bi-Annual Meetings and any additional as determined for the following committees: Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee & Medical Services Review Committee.
  46. Aware of staff strengths and limitations and makes assignments accordingly.
  47. Expect to be on call and provide any assistance as needed for events and/or incidents after office hours.
  48. Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with GRN, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  49. May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that it is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need-to-know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other GRN, LLC’s operations.
  50. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRN, LLC’s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
  51. Perform other duties assigned.

Salary : $115,000 - $170,000
