POSITION PURPOSE:
The Group Facilitator is responsible for planning and leading group sessions that support participants in achieving shared objectives. This role guides group discussions and activities, manages group dynamics, and fosters a collaborative, inclusive environment where all participants feel empowered to contribute. Key responsibilities include organizing and leading sessions to meet defined goals, facilitating open discussion while navigating varying perspectives, maintaining an environment that encourages participation from all members, monitoring group progress and adjusting the facilitation approach as needed, resolving conflicts or disruptions professionally, and summarizing outcomes with appropriate follow-up. The Group Facilitator plays a key role in ensuring sessions are productive, engaging, and aligned with organizational or program goals.
Qualifications:
Schedule - Saturdays - 9:30am-10:30am, 10:30am-12pm, and 1:15pm-2:45pm (on-site)
Qualification Requirements:
- Masters level education in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field is required.
- Prior experience in facilitating therapeutic groups is required.
- Ability to create a safe and inclusive support group environment, including a strong interpersonal communication skillset.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Additional training or certifications is preferred, but not required: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), etc.
Licensing Requirements:
A valid and unencumbered clinical license for the State of New Jersey, which can be as a:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
- Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
- Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT)
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Group Facilitator Responsibilities:
- Facilitate therapeutic groups for individuals undergoing outpatient and partial hospitalization mental health programs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Develop and implement group activities and discussions aligned with treatment goals.
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among group members.
- Monitor and address individual needs and challenges within the group setting.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals during group sessions.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure the integration of group therapy into individual treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of group sessions and participant progress.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation standards.
Salary : $75 - $125
