An employee in this position has the ability to perform all job requirements at the highest level, while performing in a leadership role. This position assists Supervisors and Managers at their designated facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Successfully complete, perform, and maintain the Valve Technician I, II and III job functions
- Train and instruct Valve Technicians on all aspects of job functions
- Assist Supervisor as needed and fill in during the Supervisor’s absence
- Administer and ensure quality and safety procedures are being followed
- Interpret site KPI’s and develop operational changes to support efficient performance
- Conduct and facilitate meetings
- Comply with company’s Quality Program by following all in-house quality processes and procedures and required AAR and FRA rules and regulations as well as any client specific procedures
- Utilize mobile and desktop hardware for operational effectiveness
- Maintain and coordinate control of tooling and equipment, including tool board inventory, to prevent workflow interruption
- Assist in employee personnel recruitment processes
- Any other duties as assigned such special projects
- Ability to read, write, and communicate English at a proficient level
- Ability to learn function specific operational details and pass an exam to demonstrate knowledge
- Ability to learn, follow and perform required recordkeeping of Guardian Rail EHS, and Quality policies, procedures, and checklists.
- Work in hot and cold environment, in and out of the weather; work safely around heavy equipment and on top of, under and inside railcars, as well as around railroad tracks.
- Knowledge of equipment and tools required to perform safe entry for cleaning
- Ability to rebuild Valves
- Perform/ prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to wear and care for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toed boots, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE as required.
