Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments, providing clear instructions and updates.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning.
- Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight details, and dispatch logs to ensure operational transparency.
- Oversee fleet management activities, including vehicle availability, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate professionally via phone calls and written correspondence to resolve scheduling conflicts or logistical issues promptly.
- Support logistics operations by analyzing transportation data to identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and dispatching tasks.
- Familiarity with logistics concepts including freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical proficiency in software such as SyteLine, Fleet management tools, and transportation analysis platforms.
