Guardian Medical Services is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic professional to join our team as a Communication Specialist/Dispatcher. We also provide contracted EMS response and supervision for events and organizations.*Please note:This position is currently available as either remote or in-office, with the possibility of transitioning to fully in-office in the future. Although the position will be overnight, training will take place at the Catlett office during the mid-shift (1200-0000).Previous Dispatch or EMS experience is required.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Communicate professionally with medical treatment facility staff, other EMS agencies, our transport crews, and other dispatchers to coordinate, schedule, dispatch, and track transports.Track and document all incoming requests for transport.Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and facilitate transport requests for those calls.Prioritize calls according to urgency.Coordinate with medical facilities to obtain and file necessary paperwork and documentation.Track and maintain awareness of crew routes and progress; update medical facilities on estimated times of arrival.Actively monitor all communication and data platforms: Phone lines (text and calls); Teams; Outlook; Logis; Samsara; ETA sheet; Communications Log; ESO; etc.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint).Must be capable of functioning in a highly fluid and sometimes stressful environment, juggling priorities, and interacting with multiple persons/agencies.Excellent multitasking skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.Good written and excellent verbal communication skills in English.Sound judgement and critical thinking skills.Strong independent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.Must be personable and professional when interacting with customers and other Guardian staff members.Must be capable of working well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Must be highly dependable and reliable.Guardian offers a generous array of benefits including, but not limited to:Medical (HSA available)VisionDental Basic Life AD&D InsuranceLong-Term DisabilityShort-Term DisabilityPaid Time OffHoliday PayEducation AssistanceEmployee Referral BonusNight Shift DifferentialSome of these benefits are at no cost to the Employee.
