Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions and related documents.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents as needed.
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents with the court.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals on various aspects of bankruptcy cases.
- Utilize software such as NextChapter for case management and document preparation.
Experience
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role is preferred.
- Familiarity with personal injury law, workers compensation law, environmental law, patent law, family law, or project management is a plus.
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise legal documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience with filing procedures and court rules related to bankruptcy cases is advantageous.
