Behaviour Mentor - What The Role Involves


  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group mentoring to pupils across secondary and sixth form with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENDCO, and the pastoral team to implement and regularly review individual behaviour support plans
  • Supporting pupils through de-escalation, restorative conversations, and reintegration following incidents or periods of absence
  • Maintaining detailed records of pupil progress, behaviour patterns, and intervention outcomes to inform wider school support strategies
  • Building consistent, trusted, long-term relationships with pupils and families that underpin genuine and lasting behavioural change


Behaviour Mentor - What The School Is Looking For

The ideal Behaviour Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous child-centred experience working with young people with behavioural or emotional needs in a UK school or educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a calm, resilient, and empathetic Behaviour Mentor with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine vocation for supporting young people to make positive choices.

Behaviour Mentor - Salary and Contract Info


  • £450 to £550 per week, pro rata to term time only
  • Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
  • Term-time only
  • Potential for extended contracts or further professional development pathways following a successful placement
