Job Description
- Competitive Compensation Package:
- $99,000-$102,000 annual starting range
- $10,000 sign-on bonus payable in two installments following training completion
- Schedule: 5 days on/10 days off rotation
- Company-paid crew housing while on shift
We are seeking dedicated Flight Nurses to provide direct patient care in accordance with GMR protocols and/or medical direction. Additionally, they will assist with coverage of open shifts as needed within their assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor, and treat patients in critical care situations
- Utilize critical thinking skills to manage critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patients and support physicians' orders
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment, perform regular equipment checks, and comply with safety standards and briefings
- Collaborate effectively with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners in a professional manner
- Share shift change information with transitioning teams and follow protocols to maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records
- Nurses are accountable for maintaining required certifications and ongoing training for the position
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum three years' experience in an emergency or critical care setting required
- Flight experience preferred
Education
- Current RN licensure in states served by the assigned area required
- EMT certification in state(s) where required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status; trauma certification within six months of hire
- Advanced Certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) preferred, required within 12 months from date of hire
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
Physical Demands
- Must be willing to shave facial hair (if needed) to fit a N95 mask
- Must possess gross and fine motor skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient care activities
- Lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
