About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized Buyer to join our team and support our procurement and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and MRP-driven inventory planning within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on cost optimization and supplier performance. We are looking for a proactive and resourceful professional who is eager to drive efficiencies, build strong supplier partnerships, and align with our company values of Customer Focus, Collaborative Innovation, Relentless Progress, Empowered Ownership, and Fiscal Responsibility.
The position is based out of our Ramsey office in NJ and reports to the Procurement Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering to confirm material specifications, sourcing options, and technical requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and procurement procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing strategies, and improved procurement practices.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement documentation complies with company standards and policies.
- Manage and track purchase orders, particularly for overseas suppliers and long lead-time materials, ensuring orders are placed and delivered in alignment with production schedules.
- Manage MRP inventory planning, including maintaining appropriate min/max stock levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Oversee procurement activities, vendor relationships, and supplier performance to ensure reliability in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to secure competitive and reliable supply.
- Support the Sales team by providing specialty material pricing and cost inputs for accurate quoting.
- Verify specialty material market availability and monitor supply conditions to mitigate potential shortages or delays.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment required, including prior experience in strategic sourcing.
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
- Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating pricing and supplier agreements.
- Experience sourcing materials from domestic and international suppliers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
